Hearing Services FAQs

Answers to common questions about hearing services in Apple Valley, Jess Ranch, La Verne, and Visalia: where to start, insurance and VA coverage, and care from home.

For most people, a hearing evaluation is the right first step. It takes 45 to 60 minutes (HMO plans need a doctor's referral first) and tells us what's going on, whether that's hearing loss, tinnitus, or something a physician should look at.

When you call, tell our patient care team what you're noticing: muffled voices, ringing, dizziness, a blocked feeling, or a child who struggles to follow directions in class. We'll book the right appointment, from a standard hearing test to a balance workup, an auditory processing evaluation, or a quick earwax removal. If you're helping a parent, you're welcome to make the call for them and join the visit. Call or text (760) 503-1700.

Most services are offered at all four offices: our main office at 17768 Wika Rd #200 in Apple Valley, the Jess Ranch office at 19015 Town Center Dr #104, 2125 Wright Ave #C8 in La Verne, and 4004 S Demaree St Ste B in Visalia. Some specialized testing, like balance and auditory processing evaluations, may be scheduled at a specific office, so ask when you book.

Apple Valley, Jess Ranch, and La Verne are open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and Visalia sees patients by appointment only. One number reaches every office, so call or text (760) 503-1700 and tell us which one is closest. See maps on our locations page.

Often, at least in part. We accept most major insurance plans and verify your benefits before your visit, so you know what to expect. Diagnostic testing such as a hearing evaluation is often covered, while coverage for services like APD testing varies more from plan to plan. Eligible Veterans can be seen through the VA Community Care Network, and we're an approved provider for Workers' Compensation and OWCP claims.

If you're paying on your own, we provide a Good Faith Estimate under the No Surprises Act before care begins. For any balance, we take all major credit cards, Cherry, and CareCredit. Details are on our financing options page.

In many cases, yes. We offer telehealth appointments, remote hearing aid programming through your phone, curbside service in the parking lot, and mail-in hearing aid repairs. For patients who can't easily travel, these options cover most adjustments and check-ins without a trip inside.

Some services still need our equipment, such as a hearing test in the sound booth or balance testing, so those happen in the office. Our team will tell you which parts of your care can happen from home and which need a visit. That flexibility helps many of our seniors and Veterans, and the adult children who juggle rides and schedules for them. Call or text (760) 503-1700 to ask.
