Dr. Kristi Mendoza

Dr. Kristi Mendoza, Au.D. is the owner of Optimum Audiology and has been helping people hear better since 1991. She leads the practice's four offices in Apple Valley, Jess Ranch, La Verne, and Visalia, and her approach is simple: test carefully, explain clearly, and verify every result.

Her interest in audiology began at U.C. Santa Barbara, where a Physics of Hearing class in the Speech and Hearing Sciences program drew her to the science and objectivity of how we hear. She earned her master's degree at C.S.U. Long Beach, where her thesis on Auditory Brainstem Response testing was later published, and she obtained her Hearing Aid Dispensing License six months before graduating. In 2009 she completed her Doctorate of Audiology at A.T. Still University.

Dr. Mendoza trained in Real Ear Measurement with pioneer Gustav Mueller, Ph.D., and uses it to verify every hearing aid fitting in the patient's own ear. She focuses on seniors, Veterans, people with occupational noise exposure, tinnitus, and auditory processing difficulties.

Beyond the clinic, she has served on Hearing the Call humanitarian missions with Entheos and on a hearing mission in Kenya with Starkey. She enjoys gardening, adult coloring books, and making art from found items, and spends her free time with her three kids and her dogs.
